Japanese Toshi Yoshida (1911-1995) tanzaku woodblock print titled Matsu (Pine Tree), Friendly Garden Series, dated 1980, pencil signed Yoshida Toshi in Japanese in the margin, with Yoshida Toshi seal and Toshi signature and title in the image, framed. Toshi Yoshida studied oil painting with his father, Hiroshi Yoshida and block carving with Maeda Yujiro. He traveled widely in India, Europe and the US. He was a member of Nihon Hanga Kyokai from 1962 and the Graphic Arts Club. He was represented in international competitions. Late in life, he turned to realistic renditions of subjects from nature.
