Chinese black silk woman's semi-formal over-jacket with a woven peony motif and a blue Peking stitch embroidered peony and bat motif, sleeves with multi-colored embroidered flowers, late 19th century, 45" l. x 53" across the sleeves. Minor staining on shortened sleeves. Normal wear. Provenance: This coat belonged to a physician who served a provincial governor in China during the late 19th century.
